A Coach’s Duties and Players’ Rights
Chief among your responsibilities is the need to safeguard the physical well-being of
your athletes. You are responsible for the prevention and care of athlete injuries. This
means taking precautions to prevent injuries, administering emergency first aid, and
securing or recommending professional medical treatment as soon as possible when
injuries occur.

Tip from Ernie: 4 v 4 Videos andReading the Game are a must see.
Effective coaching styles include
the following:
1. The method and style helps the players win their game, find success and solve the
problems that they are experiencing in the game.
2. All players want to play without interruption.
3. The coach considers and respects the rhythm of play when looking to make a
coaching intervention, looking for ways to coach without interrupting the rhythm of
the game and to make any coaching interventions as non-invasive as possible.
4. Anticipates the problems and steps to success as they develop on the field, NOT the result?
5. The guidance that the coach provides prepares the players to be successful at their
current level as well as at the next level or age group.
